AR: Augmented Reality
The Concord Art Ramble theme was Geo-metric. One of the guidelines was that you could not plan to place a piece in the pond. This made me think how nice it would be to view an artwork sitting on the pond from all banks. So I pitched an augmented reality sculpture.
I had tested the digital service at the area a few times and all seemed to be going well. But when I wentback a few weeks later, the service was gone. I had to rethink the piece. I then create a series of 3 mini AR pieces that included AR images of a weather vane, anemeter, and an aeolian harp.
The visitors scanned the QR code and could then see the 3D animated images in the forest environment. Accompanying each interactive animation was audio of poetry by Kirk Etherton.
And there was another unexpected problem. The day before the opening, a strong storm knocked a large tree down on the path that led to my art work. That took weeks to clear. :(
