Art Ramble 2021:

Up In The Air – 2021 Installation in The Hapgood-Wright Town Forest in Concord, Mass. sponsored by The Art Ramble.
Medium: epoxy, acrylic

My installation is supposed to call attention to the decline on flying insects in Massachusetts – their survival is ‘up in the air’.

Go Out Door

Next Door Neighbors – 2021 Installation on the Bruce Freeman Bike Trail in Westford, Mass. sponsored by The Concord Umbrella
Medium: Paint on a door

Painted a landscape that includes some of the common (and some uncommon) animals that roam in Westford.
Unfortunately 4 days after this was installed, someone vandalized it. Here is the ‘patched up’ door.

Studios Without Walls:

How The Light Gets In – 2021 Installation in Brookline’s Riverway.
Medium: Etched acrylic

My installation uses mirrored reflections and ’keys’ to challenge viewers to unlock the light within, and let it shine out to the world to create a better future.
Using a mirrored base, I invite visitors to look into the mirror to see themselves with the sky and sunlight above them. Etched on the mirror is a key hole and words, such as hope, peace, compassion. Around the mirrored platform, hanging from trees, are mirrored silhouettes of keys with words like kindness, compassion, love written on them. My concept is that with the metaphoric right key, we can unlock a brighter future.

Water Change

Brought to Our Knees: Shrine to Evaporating Dreams – 2020 Installation in Concord Town Forest
Medium: Etched acrylic, glass bottles, water, ceramic base, stones, sticks and green yoga mat

I created this art piece/shrine to encourage visitors to reflect on the preciousness of water. Water is the most valuable thing in our world; without it, life ceases to exist. It is awe inspiring! It should be honored, cherished, and protected. Sadly, over 25% of the world’s population doesn’t have access to a clean water supply. This number will rise unless we do more to preserve our ecosystem. And if we fail, we will be holding vigils for water.

You are invited to kneel before this shrine. Contemplate the bottles that represent different water sources in our world. Read the words of spiritual leaders, poets and philosophers about their watery thoughts — paired with news headlines. Breathe and feel the water around and in you, in the air, in Fairyland Pond, in your body.

Mt. Auburn Cemetery Installation

Trolley Square Ceramic Building Tiles, 2004

Designed and created 3 square ceramic tiles to be installed in building facade. Design showed most common trolleys used at that location. Trolley wheel is seen in background. Colors had to match building facade. Tiles had to be ‘cold-weather’ safe since they are subjected to weather extremes.
